    What is it?

Gazetteer is a web app that offers you information on a country level. You can see Wikipedia articles, pictures, webcams, and even earthquake data on the map for a selected country! Off the map, you can find an overview of the country, including its population, capital and currency, national holidays, latest covid data (where available). You can browse news articles related to the country, and check out its current and upcoming weather!

    How to use it

    1. Select a country from the dropdown list in the top right corner.
    2. Use the buttons on the left to see overview information, weather, and news (each button will activate once its data has loaded).
    3. Click on the markers on the map to see their data.
    4. The layers button in the top right will let you toggle between map and satellite (or light/dark mode), and allow you to select which markers are visible on the map. Weather overlays are also available for cloud coverage, wind, rain, and temperature.

    Please note

Not every peice of data is available for every country. In particular, many countries have no webcams or photos available.
